Jill Rosenthal – Missing Since 1965

Help Bring Her Home

Jill Lynn Rosenthal and her twin brother Jack were born in 1963 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. But by 1965, the twins were separated—forever altering the course of their lives.

In July of that year, a toddler boy was found alone in a stroller in front of a department store in Newark. With no way to identify him, police turned to an infamous kidnapping case from the year before: the 1964 abduction of newborn Paul Fronczak from a Chicago hospital.

At the time, authorities believed they had solved the case. DNA didn’t exist yet, so they used the shape of the boy’s ears to “prove” he was baby Paul. The child was given to the Fronczaks and raised as their son.

But decades later, that boy—now a man—took a DNA test. The shocking truth: he was not Paul Fronczak. His name was Jack Rosenthal, and he had a twin sister named Jill.

With the help of genealogist CeCe Moore, Jack pieced together his past. He learned that both he and Jill had reportedly suffered neglect and abuse. He was abandoned and found—but Jill disappeared. No photos of her remain. Both biological parents, Gilbert and Marie Rosenthal, are deceased.

“Someone is going to remember something,” says Jack. “I really believe she is still alive. We just need to find her.”

Now, Jill’s case is being treated as an active missing person investigation, and a new image—created by forensic artists at NCMEC—may hold the key to bringing her home.

The Fronczak Files Connection

Jill’s disappearance is part of a historic triple mystery that began with the 1964 kidnapping of Paul Fronczak. It later uncovered a shocking truth: the boy found in Newark was not Paul—and he had a twin sister who was never reported missing.

The original Fronczak kidnapping sparked the largest manhunt in Chicago’s history. The twist came decades later, when “Paul” learned he wasn’t who everyone thought he was. That discovery led to the true identity of Jack Rosenthal… and revealed Jill’s absence.

Jill’s story is not just part of The Fronczak Files.

It may be the final chapter waiting to be written.
